The absolutely best whitewater rafting trip in Tyrol, period!
Not for the faint of heart: Big and fast water, enormous waves and an array of must make moves are the characteristics of this high-intensity run. The Oetztaler Ache is by some considered one of the most difficult whitewater rafting trips in Europe. The first mayor rapid starts directly after the put-in and is not less than 500 meters long. After this wet introduction a swift and unstoppable current carries the boats within minutes into even bigger rapids like “Waldeslust” and “Ollis Desaster”. Teamwork and powerful paddling maneuvers are here the keys to success.
There is a short mandatory portage around an unrunable low-head dam that takes less than five minutes. Only shortly after the boats will have to punch through a huge re-circulating hole with as much speed as possible. The locals call this spot the “Constructa” after a popular brand of washing machines…
As with all our trips safety is paramount. On this particular trip each raft will be accompanied by two certified raft guides. A prior training trip like “Imster Schlucht” is mandatory.
